Samantha Hostert studied painting and drawing at Santa Clara University, then received her Masters in Education from DePaul University. She has taught art in various capacities for years including high school, community art centers, corporate teambuilding workshops, virtual workshops, and visiting artist presentations. She currently teaches ceramics at Lillstreet Art Center.

Samantha strives to make functional, comfortable pots, crafting an interactive artwork she hopes becomes an intimate part of your daily ritual. The juxtaposition between order and chaos are the driving forces behind her designs. She is inspired by people seeking spontaneity within structured systems and the longing for moments of exhilaration within a day of monotony.

"I create functional, comfortable pots that I hope will become an intimate part of your daily rituals. I design each pot to create depth, tension, and comfort to inspire you to slow down and listen. Every day we have many conversations with ourselves and others, yet we so often rush through them to get to or plan the next thing on our list. I hope that my pots inspire you to take time to more fully engage with these conversations while adding beauty and joy to your day."
