A native of Charlotte NC, Lynne Miller spent many years in the mountains of NC, Colorado, Connecticut and elsewhere in the US before returning to raise her children. Although much of her current work is concentrated in studio painting, Lynne was educated in graphic design and has illustrated trail signs in Colorado, painted murals/illustrations for educational state forests in North Carolina, and worked as a theme artist for museums, aquariums, and Disney parks for several years.
Lynne combines her skills in illustration, studio arts and nature-based scenic work with her love of wildlife to create luminescent paintings that encourage the viewer to look more deeply into nature and storytelling. Her illustrative, detailed acrylic works utilize gold leaf in ways that are both tranquil and inspiring, while her love of encaustics provides a play of light, layering and an unpredictable process that allows her paintings to unveil themselves in the process.
